Description

Would you like the opportunity to be our next GIS Specialist? As a GIS Specialist at Robinson, you will have the opportunity to work on projects relating to Geographic Information System technology, programming and application development, spatial and tabular data processing, digital mapping, data management, data collection, and data entry. You will have the opportunity to make an impact in communities such as Hainesville, South Holland, Monee, Minooka or St. John, Indiana.

Your New Opportunity

  • Prepare, update, and analyze spatial and tabular datasets
  • Produce report quality exhibits using mapping best practices
  • Develop ArcGIS Online maps, applications, and dashboards
  • Conduct field work to collect point, line, and polygon data
  • Support updating utility atlases
  • Create and manage online dashboards
  • Work with clients as needed to assess geospatial and data management needs for infrastructure projects


Your Background and Credentials

  • Bachelor’s degree in Geography, Earth science, or Computer Science or in a related field with a GIS emphasis
  • One to two years of hands-on GIS experience
  • Experience with desktop and web GIS software including ArcGIS Pro and ArcGIS Online
  • Knowledge of fundamental GIS/GPS principles and practices
  • Familiarity with programming languages (python, R, arcade, JavaScript) a plus
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and relationship building skills
  • Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills with the ability to be collaborative
  • Excellent organizational, planning, and prioritization skills
