Description

Would you like the opportunity to be our next Survey Crew Chief? As a Survey Crew Chief at Robinson, you will have the opportunity to work with civil engineering plan sets, conduct boundary surveys, topographic boundary surveys as well as conduct construction staking. You will have the opportunity to make an impact in communities such as Itasca, Frankfort, South Holland, Bourbonnais, Monee and Merrillville, Indiana.

Your New Opportunity

  • Interacting with and communicating with other staff members in an appropriate manner to accomplish all assigned tasks that are provided and assigned
  • Interacting with and communicating with public citizens, private clientele and construction contractors while performing assigned duties
  • Reading information from civil engineering plan sets, boundary surveys, ALTA/NSPS Land Title Survey, topographic boundary surveys and other related documents to apply that information in real time to the project at hand
  • Operation and instruction in the use of a digital total station, an analog automatic level and a GNSS receiver


Your Background and Credentials

  • High school degree or GED
  • A minimum of five years of relevant work experience
  • Must possess a strong knowledge of mathematics including, but not limited to, geometry, trigonometry, interpolation and extrapolation
  • Must have extensive experience using Microsoft Office and Trimble Access software
  • Experience with operating a Trimble TSC7 Survey Controller; ability to operate a Trimble S6, or similar, electronic fully robotic total station; ability to operate a Trimble R8 or R12i GNSS satellite receiver; and the ability to operate an analog automatic level
  • Experience with Adobe Acrobat Reader and Adobe Acrobat DC preferred
  • Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Must have excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills
  • Must have excellent organizational, planning, and prioritization skills
