We have an exciting opportunity for a Resident Engineer in the South Suburbs and Indiana. The essential responsibilities of this position include:

  • Managing multiple municipal engineering construction projects and/or a single, large scale project
  • Reviewing design and bidding documents
  • Engineering observation of construction progress to ensure compliance with plans/specifications
  • Approving change orders, invoices and payment applications
  • Communication/coordination with design engineers and municipal officials


Desired qualifications for this position include:

  • High school graduate required; college degree in engineering or construction management preferred
  • An active PE or EIT license in the state of Illinois is preferred
  • A minimum of 7 years’ experience working in roadway and/or underground construction is required
  • IDOT certifications preferred
  • Experience with Microsoft products, specifically Word and Excel, is required
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and relationship building skills
  • Excellent problem-solving and decision making skills
  • Excellent organizational, planning, and prioritization skills
